Building a Healing Community -seminar.
29th January 2011. 10.00 -17.00. Albergan kartano, Leppävaara, Espoo.

Are you interested in what counselling/pastoral care means? Do you believe that the Lord desires to heal us of our past and present struggles? UCC has the pleasure of launching its counselling ministry (Care team) with a day-long seminar led by an esteemed guest speaker, Andy Chambers*. The seminar is open to all, with questions, discussion, and prayer allowed and encouraged. Worship will be provided by Mirkku Ridanpää.

The day’s programme is as follows:

10.00 -10.25 Worship
10.25-10.30 Intro & welcome

10.30 -11.30 1st teaching: A Biblical Overview of Counselling
11.30 -11.45  Coffee break
11.45 – 13.00  1st small group: discussion
13.00 – 14.00  Lunch break
14.00 -14.30  Worship
14.30 – 15.30 2nd teaching: The Ingredients of Christian Counselling
15.30 – 16.45  2nd small group: prayer and/or discussion
16.45 -17.00 Wrap Up

We encourage you to register by emailing Daniel at so we have an idea of the numbers for the coffee break as well as for making other arrangements. The seminar fee of 10e will be collected at the door. Please sign up by 28th January 16.00, but feel free to turn up on the day even if you didn’t.

*Andy is a British pastor-counsellor who came over to Finland with his Finnish wife, Sirkku, and children some 15 years ago. During these years, Andy has raised a family, led a church and, amongst other endeavours, helped build up the healing and discipleship ministries in Finland through programmes such as Living Waters, CrossCurrent and Embracing Life. He has done most of his training as a counsellor through Elijah House r.y. and graduated as an Elijah House prayer minister in 2009. He also completed their Prophetic school last year, 2010.
