UCC Lay Counselling Course

UCC will be beginning a four part course in Lay Counselling on Saturday Feb 18th (Information below)

Course Length (16h) 1h=45mins

Target group: UCC’s own lay counsellors, prayer team members, small group leaders, men and women’s ministry leaders.

Cost: 5e will be charged each time for materials, rental of the facilities, plus the tea & coffee provided during the break; lunch at one’s own expense

Schedule (tentative):
First session 10.00- 11.30, lunch break 11.30 -12.30, second session 12.30-14.00

Saturday 18th February 10-14 Counselling from a biblical basis: theories and comparisons +The basic psychology of human beings
Saturday 17th March 10-14 Spiritual life development & discipleship + Dealing with our past – the inner healing process
Saturday 12th May 10-14 Dealing with crisis, grief and trauma + Deliverance
Saturday 9th June 10-14 Addictions and habits + Concrete counselling skills

Each session will include teaching followed by discussion and prayer in small groups.

Please note that this course is mainly for UCC church-members, and especially for those serving in the Care ministry. It is not an accredited course and does not provide you with the right to counsel others officially beyond those who are in recognised positions of lay counselling within UCC.
